Successfully transitioning from military to civilian life while maintaining a healthy and stable livelihood is a challenge for many armed forces veterans. To accommodate this, a national network of charities, social enterprises and advice centres exists to support assimilation and to enable ex-soldiers to thrive following their service. On top of this, lies a layer of referral services – predominantly run by government and the third sector.
To support the transformation of the country’s largest referral service, Polar Insight was instructed by a large government supplier to gather information from veterans about their perceptions, experience and expectations.
Using a blend of robust qualitative, quantitative and visual research techniques, we spoke with over 1,000 veterans, transforming their feedback into relevant recommendations that will to use to modernise and streamline the referral process.
